Nicole Marchand is the Chief Assistant Solicitor-General in the DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office, which prosecutes criminal misdemeanor offenses filed in the State Court of DeKalb County. As Chief Assistant Solicitor-General, Nicole serves as the front-line supervisor for 70 employees including 24 attorneys. Prior to joining the Solicitor-General’s office, Nicole served as an Assistant District Attorney in the DeKalb District Attorney’s Office. Nicole has successfully tried domestic violence, murder, rape, and drug cases. She also served as a special prosecutor in the Crimes against Children Unit, where she prosecuted child murders, molestations, and abuse cases.
Nicole is a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, and Emory University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor.
Nicole is a mentor with the Big Brother/Big Sister program of Metro Atlanta and frequently speaks at area schools to promote healthy lifestyles and good decision making, and to discourage crime amongst students, and drinking and driving with high-school students. She also mentors through the G.A.L.S. program (Girls Achieving Leadership and Success), and is a DeKalb Workforce Development mentor. Her affiliations include Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the DeKalb Bar Association, and she is an Atlanta Falcons Cheerleader.
